1409942401Hiking and biking in the fall are some of the best ways to enjoy the season as the leaves change and the temperatures cool down. Park City, Utah is one of the most beautiful spots in the state of Utah for enjoying the fall foliage whether you’re an advanced hiker looking for a challenge high up on the mountain top or for families wanting to enjoy nature together while appreciating the season. With so many trails available, just about anyone can better appreciate the beauty that Park City has to offer just before the snow falls for the upcoming ski season.

Lamb’s Canyon is a great 4 mile trail located just outside of Park City and is accessible year round providing some beautiful scenery in the autumn. Some of the spots in Lamb’s Canyon can get a little bit steep so this trail may not be the best for beginners and those who have weaker ankles may want to bring some hiking poles. Lots of smaller streams and hidden streams run along the canyon trails which provides a relaxing atmosphere for the experience.

Is aspens are your thing, and who doesn’t love aspen groves, especially in the fall as their leaves turn gold and yellow, the Super G Trees trail is a single track that is fairly short but really beautiful. Just under a mile long this trail probably isn’t for beginners or kids either unless the kids are strapped to mom or dad’s back in a hiking backpack or carrier.

If you’re looking for a hike that along a dirt road, is somewhat challenging and not only provides views of the autumn leaves but the most beautiful homes near Deer Valley, you may want to hike along the Tour de Homes. This hiking trail is 2.5 miles in length and is suitable for most hikers.

A perfect trail for beginner hikers and bikers is the Red Pine Loop which is only a mile and a half long and offers plenty of chances to catch glimpses of nearby wildlife while also enjoying the leaves and the scent of autumn in the fir and maple trees. This trail makes a full loop which is only slightly elevated in some spots so this is a good trail for the whole family to enjoy together.

Whichever hike you choose, be sure to bring plenty of water, dress in layers for changes in weather and bring a camera along to take pictures of the beauty of Park City in autumn.
